Location:
- Pamporovo is located 1.5 hours by car from Plovdiv, Bulgaria’s second largest city
- 3 hours by car from Sofia, where is the international airport.

      Facilities:  Pamporovo has 27 ski runs. Most of the resort is located right on the slopes and offers a wonderful opportunity to ski and enjoy the stunning Bulgarian scenery. The total length of the ski pistes in the resort is over 31km. The gentle profile of the mountain with its rounded slopes and summits makes Pamporovo particularly suitable for beginners. But there are also difficult ski runs like the Giant Slalom run which could challenge even the expert skier.

      The  Rhodopi Mountain: Pamporovo is located at an altitude of 1650m in the midst of the Rhodopi Mountain, which is home to the mythical singer Orpheus. The healthy climate of the Rhodopi Mountain and the virgin lands may be the reason why nearly all of Bulgaria’s centenarians live in this mountain. The mountain is also well-known for its folklore traditions.

      The Climate: Pamporovo has an exclusive climate with mild winters and no less than 120 sunny days during the skiing period. The skiing season starts from mid-December and lasts until mid-April.  

ATTRACTIONS

Just 12km from Pamporovo the architectural reserve of Shiroka Luka features distinctive 19th century houses in stunning settings. Around the end of February the town hosts the traditional Kukeri festival, which should be a must for all visitors to Bulgaria. Only 15 kms away is the National Astronomical Observatory among the three largest in the Southeast Europe. Visitors are allowed to visit the site; however a reservation in advance should be made. A very attractive is the planetarium in the near by town of Smolyan. The physicians there make 3-4 shows one of them in Foreign language. Visits in foreign language with a reservations made in advance.
