LIVING IN BULGARIA  

 I first came to Bulgaria with my husband 3 years ago after reading in a property magazine that  Bulgaria had been tipped as the next hot spot and property was much cheaper than other countries in Europe.
We came with the intention of looking for a Holiday Home which in time we would retire to.  We bought our property which was off plan  in a village 5km from Balchik on the Black Sea.  We were our Agents first English cients and her English at that time was limited.
It was very daunting  at first when we were told we would have to set up  a Ltd Company to buy the property, but our Agent guided us every step of the way. It did not take much time at all once the company is registered you have to open up a bank account with  power of attorney so that your agent can act for you whilst you are back in the U.K.
 We did  encountered several issues as our house was being built, having businesses commitments  back in the U.K. rendered it impossible to spend any great time in Bulgaria overseeing the build,  we had to rely on our Agents acting on our behalf. It is so very important to get a reputable Estate Agent because they will help you every step of the way and help you to re-locate when and if the time comes.
Once our Villa was completed we made the decision to sell our business interests in the U.K. and retire.  Our Agent has now become my dearest friend and I  feel very privilaged now to  be  working with her at the same Company that I purchased my property. I think that as I  have been through the buying process I can alay any fears any future clients  may have and it is reassuring to have some one who is English and can offer any advice needed.
This is a beautiful country which is developing and growing all the time I have witnessed the progress and investment being made here in the last 3 years alone and I find it very exciting to be here in the beginning.  Bulgaria's entry into Europe and In Balchik alone  the new Marina City and the prestigeous Golf Complexes in the vacinity. People thinking of investing  need to remember that Bulgaria is evolving and growing and that it will take time for investments to bear fruit.
